Pacific Sailworks was founded by Franklin Prendergast, a former U.S. Coast Guard Boatswain’s Mate with a deep respect for the sea, quality craftsmanship, and gear that works when it matters most. After years spent maintaining vessels, handling lines, and working in demanding marine environments, Franklin developed a sharp eye for durability, fit, and practical design.
An avid sailor and skilled seamster, Franklin started Pacific Sailworks to build marine canvas the way it should be made — thoughtfully designed, precisely fitted, and built to last. From custom LazyPacs and protective covers to repairs and modifications, every project is approached with the same care you’d expect from someone who depends on their own gear offshore.
Pacific Sailworks also gives retired sails a second life by transforming them into one-of-a-kind bags and accessories. Each piece carries its own story from the water, repurposed into something functional, durable, and unique.
Based in San Diego, Pacific Sailworks proudly serves local sailors and boat owners who value craftsmanship, reliability, and gear built with real-world experience behind it.
